I want to help you work more efficiently, so you can spend more time doing what you love.

Process

A tailored partnership designed to move you closer to your long-term goals — and passive income.

Work with me over 4 - 8 sessions to develop a profitable, marketable course that you’re proud of. Building a long-term passive income strategy is a marathon, not a sprint. I work with you to build a solid foundation for your business, and a course that moves you closer to your long-term goals.

Step 1

Passive Income +YOU. I work to understand your goals

I’ll send you a comprehensive and proprietary assessment prior to our first meeting to understand your underlying goals for your business and how to develop a course that supports this. Most clients I work with are experiencing at least one disconnect -
the type of work you want to do vs. what you’re doing, the clients you want vs. the clients you attract,
the work/life balance you envision for your future vs. your current work/life balance.

This assessment pinpoints these inconsistencies, and the results are the guiding compass to ensure your end product supports your long-term goals.

Step 2

Market fit + Find your niche

Next, we’ll work on finding the sweet spot in the Venn diagram of passion, knowledge, and marketability to ensure you create a course that you love and are excited about and your audience is too. This takes a variety of methods, and I work alongside you researching options. Sometimes this looks like polling your audience, examining gaps in the market, using keyword research, and usually all of the above.

Step 3

Course Outline and Structure

Once you have your topic, I work with you to design an interactive course that learners actually enjoy, finish, and want to share with their friends. We start with a skill learners will achieve after this course and work backward from there to outline what they should know. We get feedback from the audience you selected in Step 2 to ensure we aren’t missing anything. Along the way, we plan interactive activities to keep your audience engaged between lessons.

Step 4

Pilot, Iterate, and Launch

We don’t create courses in a vacuum over here, and after designing your course, we go back to where we started - your audience. This time we ask them to pilot your course, find out what they’ve learned and iterate based on their feedback. Course design is a continuous process and together we’ll review how and when to review and improve your course content.

Hello, I’m Alex

A smiling woman with curly black hair, wearing a beige top and gold jewelry, sitting in an office with a large map of the United States and a desk organizer in the background.

Hello!

What sets me apart? I’m not an influencer promising quick riches or pushing the next get-rich-quick course, and I’m not an academic preaching theory from a distance. I’m an Oxford-trained educator with hands-on experience selling online courses. I help you create sustainable, marketable, profitable courses that move you toward your goals: less busywork and more time doing what you love.

I don’t enjoy writing bios, but love lists, so here’s my bio with lists and links.

  1. I studied cognitive psychology at Michigan and international education and development at Oxford.

  2. My top motivators in life are theoretical (learning), altruistic (helping), and aesthetic (harmony and balance).

  3. I was trained as an academic researcher; I studied language acquisition, math anxiety and “choking under pressure” on high stakes testing.

  4. I am a former ESL teacher. I co-authored 8 ESL textbooks. One of my happiest life moments is finding them in the public library 🥹.

  5. In 2016 I transitioned from ESL textbooks to ESL online courses and surprisingly went from an audience of 0 to 3,000 students from 100 countries.

  6. This led to what I really love doing now, which is helping other people create online courses.

  7. I love meeting new people and learning about their work. If you made it this far, say hello!

Work Values

01
Work and rest with intention.

For many years I hustled and it was exhausting. I became a lot more productive when I focused on being well-rested and intentional.

02
Calm & quiet marketing.

I adopted calm and quiet marketing methods for my business in 2020. If this interests you, explore calm and quiet marketing with Dani, Alana, and Koren.

03
Find work that fits your life.

It’s never too late, you’re never too old, it’s not impossible to change careers or start doing something you love. May we all find a fulfilling career.

I am not currently active on social media. But you can find me on FocusMate a few times each week. You can always book a virtual tea chat.
